Q: How do I know how much storage space I will need?
A: Our 8×8′ units typically hold around 1-2 rooms of furniture and belongings (appx. 800 sq ft of livng space), our 8×16′ holds around 3-4 total rooms (appx. 1500 sq ft of living space), and our 8×19′ holds around 4-5 total rooms (appx. 2000 sq ft of living space). These estimates are based on past customer testimonies and are not a guarantee that you will fit that exact amount into our units.
Q: What are your containers made out of?
A: Our units are constructed using high-quality steel and aluminum shell with fiberglass on the inside of the units for additional support. There is no wood in the construction and they feature solid, reflective tops.
Q: Are the containers cleaned between uses?
A: Our containers are inspected and cleaned prior to delivery by our dedicated service technicians.
Q: Are your units waterproof?
A: Our units are designed to be weather-resistant in all climates and feature solid construction with reflective tops to help keep your belongings safe from the elements. We also inspect our units for any leaks or damages before sending them out for rental. If you have any additional concerns about your belongings, we recommend you check with your homeowner’s/renter’s insurance about coverage; we also provide two options for coverage as well that you can choose at reservation.
Q: How does the latch work?
A: All of the latches on our units are sliding latches. Slide all the way to the left to open, and then slide all the way to the right to close.
Q: How do I put my lock on the container?
A: You will see two holes that you can slide your lock through on the latch; make sure the latch is slid all the way to the right in the closed position and place your lock through either of the holes.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: We at Mobile Attic offer several different options for storage and moving. To get a free quote simply put in your information into our quote bar at the top of your page. You will see your monthly charge, total due at delivery, and future transportation cost as well. For any long-distance relocations, we ask that you give our office a call since pricing is dependant upon your destination, schedule availability, and storage needs.
Q: Do I need to sign a long-term lease?
A: No, we rent on a month to month basis.
Q: What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a unit?
A: All you need is a Government-issued form of ID (example: driver’s license, state id, or passport)
Q: How do I make a payment?
A: You can either pay in person, through the mail, or on our website here (www.mobileattic.net/make-a-payment). You may also sign up to have the payment automatically deducted from your credit card or debit card.
Q: What forms of payments do you accept?
A: Money Orders, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express
Q: How do I reserve a unit?
A: You can put your information into our free quote system at the top of the page and finish your online reservation there 24/7, or you can give our local office a call at 877-423-2055 during business hours to speak to an agent directly.
Q: Can I just stop by to view the facility and storage spaces? Or do I need an appointment?
A: We love to have visitors to our facility, but to ensure someone is available to meet you it is best to call before stopping by.
Q: How much notice needs to be given when I move out?
A: We require 7 days notice to get you onto our schedule. Our staff will go over that process at the time of signing.
Q: What if I need to access my storage unit while it is at your secure facility?
A: No problem, we just need one business day’s notice in order to make your unit accessible to you on our property and help set up your gate code for access.
Q: When can I access my unit if it is being stored at your secure facility?
A: All customers who are storing with us have access to their unit 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Extended hours are available on a case-by-case basis after management approval.
Q: Do I need to be there when the driver drops off the container at my location?
A: No, we know you are busy so we are happy to give you a quick call before we bring the container to you. Usually about 20-30 minute lead times.
Q: Can you give me a specific time I will receive my container?
A: No, however, the driver will call you ahead of time (approx. 20-30 mins) and you don’t have to be present for the container to be delivered.
Q: Does the container have to be put in my driveway?
A: No, we can sometimes place it on a non-paved surface depending on the condition of that surface. We tend to try to stay away from soft or muddy yards and final placement is left up to driver discretion so that we can provide the safest experience for you and our staff.
Q: Do you sell/rent storage supplies?
A: Yes, we have a variety of storage supplies to rent (blankets, straps, locks, hand trucks), ask one of our reps about supplies when renting. We also partner with a third-party for any other moving supplies such as boxes, tape, etc. You find that information here!
Q: Do you have hand trucks and dollies available at your facility?
A: Yes, we do have hand trucks and furniture dollies, but availability is limited. Feel free to ask our staff for item availability at the time of rental.
Q: Do I need to provide my own lock?
A: You can, but we also sell disc-pad locks ($12.99 + tax).
Q: What size lock fits the container?
A: Most standard padlocks will fit our latches, but we also provide circular disc locks that can be purchased and delivered with your unit.
Q: Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?
A: Liquids, Explosives, Flammable liquids, Toxic materials, and Perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions about a specific item. See our contract for a complete list.
